Being stuck in the house like this, repeating the same thing, every day, makes me anxious. Going to grocery stores that look like post-apocalyptic -- running through and finding no toilet paper, barely any food, it’s just crazy!
But what made me laugh one day was when grandma came through the door after having been in Walmart for a couple of hours, and she just sprinted to the shower, talking about she needed to decontaminate herself. She has never run like that since her young days (don’t tell her I said that. lol), and she zoomed to the shower like she was running the 100-meter dash. Despite our laughter, it reminded me how this is such a serious time, and we all have to take every precaution to stay safe.
All of this time in the house has just made me think about if I really knew my family well enough, and I feel I didn’t. So, I’ve started rebuilding my connections. I’ve learned so many new things about my little sister that I’ve never paid attention to, as well as my mother, and my brother, and it’s helped me to make good use of the time that we’ve had in quarantine. I’ve learned that we have to always try to make something good out of what we have, because we have no clue what tomorrow may bring. The virus has infected me with some good sense to slow down, enjoy the small things more, and laugh a lot, even if the situation isn't really funny.
