At a crazy time like this, a lot of people are required to stay home and not go their regular jobs. Yet, what about the people who still have to work as "essential workers"?They are risking their health so that the rest of us can continue our ‘normal’ lives.
My friend and her family wanted to find a way to thank some of the people who are still working. The mail carriers are some of the brave people who have to go to work and do their job regardless of the risks involved.
I asked my friend what made her family choose the food box as their way to say "thank you", and she replied:
“They do a lot of work that often flies under the radar. I mean every day they are still going out to multiple different houses to give people their packages. Could you imagine if they just didn’t do that? There are so many people ordering stuff that they need right now and they are the only people that can fulfill the need for these people.”
The Gross family decided they were going to put together small goodie bags to show their appreciation for them. In the sealed ziplock bags in the box on their front porch, they put a drink, a few snacks, and some hand sanitizer, with a note that read, “Dear Delivery & Mail Men/Women, thank you for still working in a time like this. Please accept a goodie bag as thanks. Stay safe! - The Gross's’”
Sometimes, a crisis can bring out the best in us.
