Most days are consumed with constant emails followed by organizing meeting times and having meetings which entail talking to people all day long. Work is still constantly flowing even though we are all behind our screens. Meeting with parents and students takes up a large part of my day -- hearing their questions, concerns, and trying to connect with them and help however I can. It’s strenuous at times trying to answer and solve many of our students' issues and questions. This whole virus is impacting us all in so many different ways. But doing my part to help in any way I can, is the best way for me to make an impact on this epidemic.
The Allegheny Community has truly shown its unity and care for one another through the past weeks. Once you all left and we had to shut down, we thought you would all return in just a few short weeks, but that didn't work out as we know. Many students left belongings that were essential to them, whether that was medical items or personal items. The coordination between staff and students to gather students' belongings and figure out how to transport these in a safe manner is truly inspiring. We’ve all really come together as a team to either pick up and drop off or ship those belongings to those students.
To our wonderful Allegheny Community out there, you are not alone. Even though you may feel like you are stuck in your own bubble and shut off and alone, you are not.
This community is strong and caring. All of us are here to help and assist, so never be afraid to reach out and ask for help, because everyone is hurting, we are all in this together!
