GATOR CHAMPS: AMANDA MANGINE

Updated: Aug 5, 2020

While working from home can be difficult at times. Three kids, no motivation, taking care of the dogs and the house, and of course the sense of panic -- really can disrupt daily work activities.

The only cool thing about working from home is creating my own schedule. Most of the work my department and myself do can be operated remotely and accomplished at home, but that brings me to the biggest thing I miss and that's the students.

The opportunity to check in with students and have face to face interactions with them is heartbreaking. However, I can still say the Gator community is still strong even when we are all spread out miles apart.

Some of my friends within the administration and faculty have orchestrated a weekly trivia and game night where we all come together and spend time talking and discussing numerous topics. It's these experiences that are essential to everyone's mental health during these trying times.

To my fellow Gator’s across the globe, we miss you all so much. Without you our jobs have no true meaning.

We all anticipate the day for when we can all come together back on campus. It's truly inspiring to watch all of you come together in some many ways to help each other out and also bring happiness at a time of such sadness. I could not be more proud to be a part of this magnificent community.
