Well just like everyone else who works with the Allegheny College administration, I have been quite busy. We still have over 30 kids living on campus, for numerous reasons, that I am still looking after and helping in the best way that I am able.
Personally, the most impactful story that happened to me recently took place when we had to shut down in-person interactions on campus. Within hours, faculty and folks from various departments reached out via email to see if their fellow Gators needed help of any kind.
Whether that was getting families their groceries or just being there to chat with. My mother has cancer and lives 45 minutes away from me. To have several of my fellow coworkers reach out to ask how she is doing and offer to help her because they live closer is truly a sign of what the Allegheny Community truly is.
I'd like our students and our Gator community members out there to know we are all in this together. Do not ever feel like you are alone in this.
Whether we are commuting or at home hundreds of miles away, our Gator Connection is strengthened by what we stand for, how much we care, and by our mutual giving and receiving. That care is just a call or text away. Never forget we are always here for you.
