This one was definitely weird and experimental. I was having one of those “moods”. It was published around the time spring break would be for the students. I drew over pictures from a Holi party I went to, where after we had finished playing with our colored powders, thrown at each other across the forest floor and smeared on our faces, we built a fire and just hung out. We also burned an old armchair that was just lying around. I still don’t know exactly where it came from. We’ve had such terrible events with fires worldwide these past few years I had forgotten how much of a unifying force it can be when we have it under control. I missed the warmth I could feel from just being around friends that were two or three degrees separated from me. After I drew this strip I moved from New York back to my hometown in Texas and I look back now with deep longing for those Gator moments and those Gator friends.
Public Safety guys always save the day. If only there were back alley dealers giving out exam answer keys like a Saturday morning drug PSA commercial. Would’ve made my college life more fun. But then, there was the defining moment of The Wrecking Ball.
